UHS to conduct MDCAT again
After the fiasco of entry test, Punjab government has announced to re conduct the Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT). This time test will be taken without fee being charged from students. Earlier University of Health Sciences (UHS) has rejected the claims of paper leakage, however after retrieving evidences for paper leakage from UHS it has been decided to conduct test again.
Minister of Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education, Khawaja Salman Rafique while taling in a conference said, “The investigations, conducted so far, have revealed involvement of an organised racket having close links with some of the doctors, non-doctors and renowned academies that offered services for preparation of the entrance test.”
MDCAT was conducted by UHS on August 20, soon after which the news became viral over social media regarding the leakage of paper. Candidates protested for paper leakage and for playing with the emotions of students. UHS failed to maintain the transparency this time.
However the matter was examined by the high powered inquiry committee of Chief Minister Punjab and arrested the culprits. However the names of responsible figures has not been revealed in the press conference. Khawaja Salman disclosed that investigation report has been given to the Shahbaz Sharif.
It was clearly mentioned during the press conference that by the end of this month MDCAT will be conducted again. The final date for the test will be announced within few days.
