Pakistan Hockey Federation all set to host first ever PHL

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is geared up to host its first ever Hockey League in the country in April 2018.

The league will begin on 24th April, 2018. The hockey league will be held at Karachi, Gojar, Faisalabad and Lahore.

According to Shahbaz Ahmad from PHF, league will be comprised of total of six teams. Additionally, international players from Argentina, Australia and other countries will also be taking part in Hockey League.

The event will aid in bringing up the international sports to country. It will also help the Hockey foundation Pakistan financially.

Shahbaz Ahmad said about the preparation of the event: “We expect that our team will at least make it to the finals of the event. The national team will participate in Asia cup which starts from 11th October in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The players would get confidence from playing in the event and also gain international exposure.”

While talking about the future plans, he said that Pakistan Hockey team is going to visit Australia and Europe to play couple of hockey series.

PHF is going to conduct meeting with President FIH Narinder Batra to ask for the foolproof security and about the visas concern.
