HEC to set up University Campus in every District
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is to set up university campus in each district of country. The aim behind the establishment of university campus is to increase the ratio of higher education which is currently less than 5 percent.
The head of HEC, Dr Javaid Memon made an announcement while he was addressing open house session of Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) Karachi.
The open house session was also addressed by President, MAJU Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Dr. Kamran Azim, Associate Dean, Computer & Engineering Dr. Asim Imdad, Associate Dean, Business Administration & Social sciences Dr. Shujaat Mubarak and Director Student Affairs, Ahmer Umer.
The open house session was attended by a large number of students, their parents along with head of departments and faculty members.
Javaid Memon while briefing about the number of students enrolled in HEC recognized institutes said that fifteen years back, when HEC was established only four lac students were studying in fifty different universities, but now 12 lac students are enrolled in eighty different universities.
During the session, different personalities addressed the students and wished them good luck for future.
