HEC stops 4 Pakistani universities from offering admissions

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has banned four Paskistani universities from offering admissions to students in upcoming academic session. The decision has been made due to the mismanagement of academics by universities.

The Preston Institute of Management Sciences and Technology, Karachi, Imperial College of Business Studies, Lahore, Global Institute, Lahore, and Al-Khair University, AJK are banned from taking any further admissions.

While talking to DAWN News Chairman of HEC said, “We banned the institutions from offering admissions in the recent pasts, but they are violating the ban, so we issued this warning today.”

Ahmed further added that the affiliated colleges, their sub-campuses or branches are also banned from offering further admissions. Chairman said that in 2016, the review panel of HEC visited the institutions and universities of country to review the quality of the academics.

However the universities with not satisfactory performance were asked to improve their quality. Whereas these four institutes still don’t complied with regulations despite of reminders, therefore they have not been allowed to admit students for any programme.

Moreover, HEC advised students through twitter to not take admission in these universities .
