Sarahah, the most famous messaging app beating other apps like Instagram, Messenger, Youtube and Snapchat in the app store.
Who is the Master mind behind Sarahah?
The app was developed by Zain-al-Abidin, a Saudi programmer and is currently most viral sensation among the youth across the world.
What does app actually is?
The app is used to send and receive messages anonymously to peers and co-workers. Earlier the app was introduced in workplaces so that workers can give each other an honest opinion but due to its popularity, app was introduced in public.
Launch of Sarahah:
Sarahah, is an Arabic word means honesty. The app was introduced in February 2017. After its launch, app became viral and within one month BBC reported that app has 2.5 million users in Egypt, 1.2 million in Saudi Arabia and 1.7 million in Tunisia. Currently the app is on top in app store among thirty different countries of world which includes France and US.
The app became more popular after the new update of Snapchat which it rolled out in July. The new update allowed users to share a link in their Sarahah account in Snapchat.
Working of app:
First of all download the app from your app store and then create your account. Once you have setup your account share it with your colleagues, peers, family and on other social media platforms so that people can anonymously ask you questions to get an honest answer.
Once you will receive message, you can either save it, forward it to someone or delete it. People can even bully you on this platform. In this regard, the originator of app has said that he is taking steps to stop people from providing harm or to bully each other.
If someone is bullying you or sending you offensive message, you have the option to block that person. Additionally, app also allows you to limit your profile from research results.
Moreover this is not the first anonymous messaging app, other apps like Ask.fm are also functions similar.
Sarahah is available for both android and iOS users.
