Shahid Khaqan Abbasi interim Prime Minister till Shehbaz gets elected
The ruling party PMLN selected, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources as the interim Prime Minister of the country. The decision was made during the meeting of parliamentary committee of PMLN by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Former PM, Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by Supreme Court of Pakistan due to corruption.
Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and other senior leaders of party were present during the meeting.
In meeting, Shehbaz Sharif is selected as the PM after Nawaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will serve as PM until Shahbaz Sharif becomes the member of parlimment.
When former PM arrived at Punjab house for meeting, Maryam Nawaz tweeted: “Prime Minister or not the Prime Minister, his love resides in the hearts. Nawaz Sharif gets a rousing welcome at the parliamentary party meeting.”
Interim PM will provide his services at least 45 days until Chief Minister of Punjab steps down from his post.
