Website set up for stolen and lost mobile devices

Government of Pakistan has launched a website to get back stolen and lost mobile phones. Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has set up the website to ease citizens to get their stolen mobile devices to get back through International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers.

CPLC contains record of over one million IMEI numbers. These IMEI numbers have been blocked after verification by the authorities. CPLC has returned thousands of recovered mobile devices to their owners after verification.

The website has been collecting records from last ten years. Further the website helps buyers to verify the IMEI numbers of used mobile phones before their purchase.

The website was launched by CPLC in cooperation with National Database &Registration Authority, the CHIPA Welfare Association and the Edhi Foundation.
