Sindh govt to provide solar tube wells to small growers
Chief Minister (CM) Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah announced to provide solar tube wells to the small growers to boost agriculture sector in the province.
Murad said that keeping in view the water shortages that was affecting the agriculture sector, Sindh government has decided to take this step. He made the announcement while he was chairing a meeting of Irrigation and Agriculture department at the CM house.
Chairman P&D Mohammad Waseem, Principal Secretary to CM Sohail Rajput, Secretary Irrigation Jamal Shah, and Secretary Agriculture Sajid Jamal Abro were also present in the meeting.
It was informed during meeting that scheme launched is worth of cost of Rs 1000 million, out of which Rs2630.505 million are utilized.
For the installation of solar energy tube wells, Sindh government has introduced 11 schemes.
Murad further enlightened that in the scheme government of Sindh will contribute 802 million rupees while farmers will only share 198 million rupees.
Jamal Shah, Secretary Irrigation further told that drainage system and installation of solar tube wells worth of 1047.5 million rupees at Pano Aqil cantonment area is to be started yet.
