PSDF and Uber has joined hands for self-employment Opportunities
Chief Minister of Punjab has given clear instructions that Punjab Skills Development Fund is taking serious measures to create self-employment opportunities for the youth of Punjab who are unemployed. This enables the youth to avail the opportunities and polish their skills. Uber and PSDF has signed MoU and announced to work together to enhance the economic opportunities especially in the transport sector of Punjab.
Mr. Rana Mashood, the Minister for Education, was also at the event and said
“I wanted to congratulate PSDF and Uber on occasion and sincerely hope that this partnership will bring great benefits for youth of Punjab.”
Due to this partnership, the young job seekers will get a chance to earn with their skills. This allows to benefit them and avails transport jobs primarily offered by Uber in Pakistan.
This mass mobilization campaign is vast and will only be implemented within Punjab. The trainee pool will be established where the youngsters will be trained under particular environment and the curriculum approved by Uber.
The training PSDF will be exceptionally designed to assist the candidates and lets them develop entrepreneurial, operational and technical skills. Ensuring the security and safety of Uber riders is necessary. Once the candidates are trained, then they will be integrated and introduced with latest Uber technology system. This will engage the individuals under the trainee pool for selected opportunities overseas.
Furthermore, PSDF and Uber intends to take the survey in Punjab, which determines the role, which new technologies in shared economy will play supporting large scale economic opportunity in the transport sector.
While signing the agreement with Uber, the CEO PSDF Mar Jawad Khan said:
This helps to create income opportunities with all the technological companies. The key for PSDF is to empower youth by providing design training opportunities carefully while creating linkages between the potential employers.

After signing the MoU, Uber aims to utilize this enormous talent pool, which is generated by PSDF with the partners and various drivers to provide the reliable, safe and affordable transport to riders. We believe that working with Mr. Jawad Khan and the leading company Uber can generate greater economic opportunities in the province, which will encourage entrepreneurship amongst the youth.
