Medical Universities to be setup in Multan and Rawalpindi: Punjab government

Punjab government to build up two medical universities each in Rawalpindi and Multan. The step has been made to promote medical education and to provide better opportunities to the youth in Punjab.

The announcement was made by Punjab Minister for Healthcare and Medical Education, Khawaja Salman Rafique.

During meeting it was cleared that Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) and Nishtar Medical College (NMC) would become the constitute colleges of the universities.

The establishment of universities would lead to providing better medical education and training opportunities to the students.

The health Minister said that establishment of universities at two edges of the province would provide local students with opportunities to get the medical education at their doorstep instead of moving towards other cities.
