LUMHS Jamshoro signs MoU with British Council for IELTS

LUMHS signs Memorandum of Understanding with British Council Pakistan on 10th April Monday. The agreement was signed in Karachi at the office of Pro-Chancellor Minister Health Dr. Sikandar Ali Mendhro. The main aim of the agreement is to collaborate for IELTS. It will be a part of the British Council administration project, which helps to enhance the framework due to which many activities will take place. Even some of the initial online actions will be administrated collaboratively.

The Vice Chancellor of LUMHS Prof. Noshad A.Shaikh said while addressing the ceremony that Liaquat University owns a tradition of promoting education within Sindh along with the implementation of MOU. The University will provide the services of English language training. However, the center of examination for IELTS will also be established within the University premises at LUMHS Jamshoro. All of the candidates from entire Sindh can avail the facility of IELTS training.

Minister Health Dr. Sikandar Ali also expressed that IELTS is the world’s modern English Proficiency Test for the global migration and higher education. It has a record of two million tests taken all over the world in just one year. Establishment of the IELTS Center at LUMHS is the first step to promote English language and education among the students, especially from rural areas. They will be able to compete with the students at international level.

Hassan Khattak who is the country Director Examination services British Council Pakistan said that British Council had a great history. It supports the Institutes of HEC in Pakistan and does create opportunities for Pakistani Higher Education institutions to collaborate, share ideas and connect with United Kingdom organizations. The platform will bring us closer to achieve the goal. The Director of British Council for Sindh and Baluchistan Mr. Christopher Hunt also attended the ceremony.
