Islamabad Literature Festival 2017 to begin from second week of April
Islamabad Literature Festival is going to be held on April 14, 2017, at Margalla Hotel. The festival will continue for three days and purpose of the festival is to bring together national and international writers to promote their writings.
The festival is to bring together the journalists, writers, poets, anchor persons and literature lovers together on the same platform. The festival includes major events of talks, poetry, readings, interviews, book fairs, author signings and much more.
The event will help in shedding the light on multiple issues. The festival will start with the welcome speeches, keynote speeches by A.G. Noorani and Sayeda Arfa Zehra. During the start of the festival, Amna Nawaz Khan will perform a dance.
During the opening, multiple concurrent sessions will be held on topics ranging from the judiciary to language translations along with the book launch. During the sessions different politicians including Raza Rabbani, Aitzaz Ahsan will share their views.
The second day will be comprised of more than 20 sessions and over 70 writers and politicians will share their views on multiple topics. Topics include education, climate change, gender violence, law, poetry, heritage, culture, history Sufism and much more.
Last day of the festival includes sessions of book launches, and music, media, social media, and literary figures, leaves of history and politics etc will be discussed in detail. Famous Urdu program “Zara hutt kay” will also be held during the third and last day of the event. Sohail Malik will recite the shikwa and jawab-e-shikwa of famous poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
