Underwater Robotics Challenge won by Pakistan in SAUVC 2017
Team Prepared by the Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering got top position in the world’s largest underwater robotics Challenges Singapore Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Challenge held in Singapore.
SAUVC is well known for providing students with an opportunity to get skilled and learn about the robots. The design must automatically navigate underwater and allows to perform assigned tasks. The event was conducted at Singapore Polytechnic and was hosted by IEEE Singapore chapter.
It is the first time that Pakistani team participated in the amazing event and there were fourteen teams from various countries including Russia, India, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the USA. Pakistani Team was also bagged for the Best Social Media Campaign Award and secured the first position. A team from CASE comprises of four students Mr. Saad Malik, Mr. Haider Iftekhar, Mr. Usman Abid and MS Mehrosh Fareed who was supervised by three faculty members Mr. Adeel Muhammad, Mr. Waqas ur Rehman and Dr. Mansoor Shaukat from CASE Robotics Group.
