Altaf Hussain University name changed by Sindh Govt.

Sindh Cabinet decided to change the name of Altaf Hussain University as Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah University. The decision is taken by cabinet meeting by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at Sindh Secretariat. The recent amendment has been made after the Altaf Hussain anti-Pakistan remarks.

The Chief Minister said by addressing cabinet that there is no need to title the University after the Altaf Hussain name because he worked with anti-Pakistan elements to destabilize the country. Following is the cabinet amendment made as Altaf Hussain University Act 2014.

Sindh Assembly has passed private bills and established Altaf Hussain Universities in Hyderabad and Karachi. Muttahida Qaumi Movement then moved the bill.

Later in January 2015, Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan the Sindh Governor and Bahria Town Chief Malik Riaz performed pioneering of Altaf Hussain University, which is few kilometers away from hilly Ganjo Takkar area. MQM Chief conducted a telephonic address from London and congratulated people of Hyderabad. He thanked Malik Riaz and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari for their continuous support.

The plot of 80 acres was bought at the cost of Rs 380 million from Hyderabad Development Authority`s for the construction and establishment of University. The University was completed in two years and offer education in pharmacy, business studies, mass communication, information technology and other related subjects of social sciences. A new model school will soon be built on AHUs premises.
