Punjab government to introduce new uniform for police

To bring reforms in Punjab police, Punjab government has decided to change the uniform of police in eight phases by 23rd March.

In the first phase, only the uniform of Lahore police would be changed while it would take nine months to change the uniform of the whole conversion. According to sources, the field staff would have different design uniform than the staff working in offices.

According to officials, the Lahore police and central police’s uniform color would be olive green. During the first phase, Lahore police would be given 50,458 uniforms while Rawalpindi police would be given 26,860 uniforms in the second phase. Faisalabad police would be provided with 25,828 uniforms in May, 20,786 for Multan by June, and 22,832 for Sheikhupura by July, 29,912 to Gujranwala by August, 24,854 for Sargodha and 22,722 for Sahiwal and DG Khan by October.

The Pakistan Day Parade will be held by the Police force in impressive-looking new uniform. In summers field staff would be allowed to wear T-shirts and P-caps.
