Lahore Canal will attract amazing tourists this year
Chicago—The Government plans to change the look of the Lahore by changing the River Ravi and the Canal into an environment-friendly destination which will surely attract hundreds of tourists. The Lahore Mayor Mubashir Javed while speaking with the Urban Waterways Forum in Chicago has proposed the plan.
The international forum is co-hosted by the Rahm Emanuel who is the Chicago Mayor along with Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. At least 13 mayors are participating from five major continents in the forum. Mubashir told that the participants would deliver quality work as a wide range of work is under development and is carried out in Lahore with the help of local government, provincial and federal support.
It is one of the ongoing projects happening in Punjab. The plan is to utilize waterways, which will help to transport passengers and goods. Mubashir said that he would learn from the experience of other mayors in turning these water reserves into engines of economic growth and development.
However, he also thanks to the hosts for inviting him to the forum as it was his first foreign tour after the election. He states that the sister cities Chicago and Lahore will undoubtedly improve the relation. He praised the efforts of Mayor Emanuel who is also a former chief of staff of President Obama.
Mayor Mubashir also briefed CEOs and different IT specialists present in the emerging sector of Pakistan. The meetings will surely pave the way for tourism. This year the Canal and the River Ravi will be decorated in an exceptional way. So do not forget to visit the places.
