Viber: Whatsapp rival launches ‘Secret Chats’ to protect users
Messaging application, Viber has launched new feature with the name of ‘Secret Chats.’ The feature is designed to protect users from CIA spying.
The feature will allow users to send messages in secret chat windows and with the passage of time, they will self-destruct. It takes tips from snap chat, with message destructing after a specific amount of time. The feature will allow users to have more control on messages.
The feature also restricts the user to take a screenshot of conversation. Only iOS users will be allowed to take screenshots and Viber will notify users when it happens.
Further, the feature will allow the user to hold two conversations with the same contact, and conversation will be protected and marked with a lock symbol.
Furthermore, Secret chats will not allow the user to forward the message. Whenever someone will message you the notification will appear of the message with hidden content.
“The goal of Viber is to continue providing features that will enable the user to communicate without hesitation and without limitation,” says Viber.
Last year Viber also introduced end-to-end encryption which will also be applied to Secret Chats.
