Pakistan will organize Buddhism heritage in Thailand
Islamabad—Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation is planning to host the Buddha Heritage exhibition in Thailand. The Managing Director of PTDC Abdul Ghafoor has said that the exhibition is held with an aim to highlight religious and historical Buddhist sites at Swat, Takht-i- Bhai, and Taxila. He said that he hopes that the exhibition will attract tourists to visit Pakistan and see the religious sites.
Ghafoor told that Buddhist Scholars and tour operators are invited to visit the exhibition. Pakistan is the custodian of Gandhara Buddhist civilization, and numerous holy Buddhist sites are sacred to people from all over the world. The significance of Buddhist culture remains in Pakistan, and will surely boost tourism flow with publicity.
Thailand government is assisting Pakistan in the maintenance and restoration of Gandhara Archeological sites in Swat and Taxila. Publicity material will be published in Thai language soon so that people will feel welcome to Pakistan. PTDC is inviting travel writers to highlight the Gandhara heritage for the tourist attractions of Pakistan this will enhance the soft image of Pakistan in Thailand.
