Pakistan plans to ban social media because of blasphemous content available online
Islamabad–High Court Judge has been called for a ban on various social media sites. The main reason for the prohibition is the presence of the blasphemous images which is spreading virally on the internet.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui states that people who are sharing such content online, their names must be added to the Exit Control List and they must be prohibited to leave the country. He also reports that “He will go to every extent to make this case logical and ban all the social access in Pakistan.”
Justice Siddiqui claims that he is unable to sleep since have viewed the offending content available online. He does compare blasphemous content with terrorism and both terms are linked. Even though blasphemous pages are removed with the help of Facebook officials.
It is concluded that anyone who promotes, post or takes part in Blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad will be hanged till death in Pakistan. Blasphemy does include defiling the Quran, derogatory remarks and wounding religious feelings.
Pakistans Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan will support Siddiqui and take proper measures to eliminate the evil by blocking the social media. Even Salman Shahid filed the case against five famous bloggers Ahmed Raza Naser, Samar Abbas, Asim Saeed, Ahmed, Waqas Goraya, and Salman Haider that they are taking part in spreading the blasphemous content on various social networks.
More than 2000 people took part in the rally and call the government to take serious action on this issue.
