Air Conditioned Hybrid Rickshaws launched in Karachi
Pakistani company Green Wheels Private Limited has unveiled Hybrid rickshaws in Pakistan in an auto show. The auto show was organized at Karachi’s Expo Center.
The Chinese company introduced hybrid rickshaws in 2015 but is now locally manufactured by Green Wheels. The hybrid rickshaw has a tendency to run on both petrol and on battery.
It can be charged from a normal socket at home in few hours. Additionally, rickshaw can charge its battery much faster from its own engine while running on the petrol engine.
With fully charged battery, it can reach the speed of up to 50km per hour. It is also available in both, air conditioned and non air conditioned models. The modern rickshaw is also having the facility of Wi-Fi.
Once the speed of rickshaw is below the 25km/h, it does not consume fuel as it automatically switches to the hybrid system.
Earlier in 2015 Muhammad Ayaz, the director of Green Wheels Private Ltd, claimed that there is also a solution to convert normal rickshaw into hybrid one just by installing special conversion kit.
According to officials, non air conditioned will cost around Rs. 40,000.
