Google partners with Telenor to launch RCS messaging in some European and Asian countries

From past many years Google is working with many mobile companies to upgrade SMS for people across the Globe.

Now Google and Telenor are becoming partners to enhance the messaging experience through RCS (Rich Communication Services).

RCS messaging will be provided to the 214 million subscribers in different countries of Europe and Asia including, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Hungary, Montenegro, Serbia, Bulgaria, Pakistan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia and India.

The subscribers will have access to advance and various features of messaging.

RCS includes many features like group chat, high-res photo sharing, read receipts and more that will come standard on Android. The services will be provided to the users by Jibe RCS cloud from Google.

In countries where RCS is launched, Telenor subscribers who already have Messenger app installed will get access to RCS services after an update.

The one who don’t have app can easily download Messenger app from Google.

RCS is already available in US and Canada but within coming months it will be made available to other countries as well.
