Zia-ul-Haq guaranteed Reagan “Pakistan would not make Atomic bomb”

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) openly showed a memo which is a part of secret documents disclosed that General Zia-ul-Haq guaranteed his American colleague Ronald Reagan that Pakistan will not make atomic bomb.

Zia-ul-Haq, former President of Pakistan, wrote a letter to the American President Ronald Reagan on 5th July, 1982. In this letter he inscribed Reagan that Pakistan will not make nuclear armaments and atomic explosive devices.

The letter of Zia which has been made open to the populaces by CIA, look as if it had been written in response to Reagan’s letter. This letter says that Zia-ul-Haq called all that information related to the Pakistan to be false as Pakistan would never be participating in the manufacture of nuclear explosives and armaments to distress America. However he also confirmed that Pakistan’s nuclear programs are made only for the nonviolent determinations.

The memo also revealed that Zia-ul-Haq was being hassled by the military establishment to sling Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan.
