22-Volume of Urdu Dictionary online will soon launch in Pakistan
Pakistan`s Urdu Dictionary Board have set to launch the 22 volume dictionary online. The decision is taken because of increased use of technology worldwide. The Chief editor Aqeel Abbas Jafri said that there are 22 volumes of Urdu Dictionary that carries 264,000 words and 22,000 pages. The team has decided to upload the dictionary on website udb.gov.pk.
The deadline for the dictionary to available online is May 20, and the dictionary is available for all the online users a soon as possible.
Amazing Features of Online Urdu Lughat
The dictionary owns two amazing features
- One is lughat that allow the user to search the words by using the search engine. Individuals can search for words individually
- Pronunciation is the second feature which allows users to listen to the correct pronunciation or versions.
Urdunama owns 54 editions, and all of them are published. The scanned editions are available online as well.
However, there are 1500 rare books, which were printed back in 1920. These books will soon be scanned and uploaded on the website like Rekhta`s so that millions of people can access it. The proposal is sent to the authorities soon. Jafri quoted in a report that the online activity will benefit all the Pakistani readers and the lovers or readers of Urdu language all over the world.
