Sindh Beach Games must be held before Ramadan

This year Karachi is very much active in Games and have two mega sports events in May. On 1st, National Beach Games and on 17th Sindh Games were conducted which are getting a delay from last four years.

The provincial sports department has directed the Sindh Sports Board to organize events before Ramadan in an impressive manner. The Beach Games were held in Karachi at Sea View from May 12-May 14 while Sindh Games will be held from May 20-May 24. The Sports Minister of Sindh Sardar Muhammad Bux Mehar has appointed the task to the officials of SSB to organize these sports event. Sindh Games was held in 2014 when Dr.Muhammad Ali Shah was the Minister of Sports. The Beach Games was also the Shah brainchild who wanted to utilize the coastline of the country.

The high official said that the Beach Games Preparations are in full swing and SSB is finalizing arrangements. The SSB sources stated that 600 male and female athletes from various disciplines from all four provinces and AJK have participated in Beach Games.

He mentioned that 13 male and even 7 women from AJK also participated in Beach Games. The disciplines are beach football, volleyball, boxing, netball, wrestling, tug of war, malkhra, arm wrestling and Kodi Kodi. The Sources told that SSB is organizing these games without the Sindh Olympic Association or any other association. Officials told that they have coaches in almost every discipline and these coaches will organize and supervise the games.

A high-level meeting of SSB officials yesterday discussed and reviewed the matter for arrangement pf Beach Games. The players will get the daily allowances, traveling expense as well as tracksuits. After the Beach Games, the preparation for Sindh games will be finalized, and all of the divisions are directed to start the preparation for sending sports contingent to Karachi for Sindh Games on 17 May.
