Pakistan has tripled its representation among Asia’s best universities list

Pakistan tripled has ranked among top universities in Asia. Seven Pakistani institutions are among top 300 best institutions of Asia.

The Asia University ranking list 2017 given by Times Higher Education has shown that seven Pakistani universities are among 300 top institutes of Asia, out of which five are new entrants.

Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad is Pakistan’s highest-ranking institute placed at 121-130 cohort while COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology is also ranked among top 150 institutes.

National University of Science and Technology (NUST) has secured the position among 141-150. The university of Agriculture Faisalabad is ranked among 201-250. While University of Lahore and the University of Karachi both are among top 250+ universities of Asia.

The Editor of Times Higher Education rankings, Phil Baty on Pakistan’s success appreciated and said that “It is amazing to see that Pakistan has more than tripled its representation among top 300 universities of Asia. Pakistan took seven places among best universities of Asia from last two years.”

He told that “Two universities have dropped their places due to the higher competition and leading Asian universities at a faster rate. Quaid-e-Azam University drops from 101-110 to 121-130, while National University of Science and Technology (NUST) drops from 121-130 to 151-160.”

According to Phil Baty, “Indian is getting higher in education, as this year 33 universities took place among the list of top 300 universities of Asia. It shows that India is the third most-represented nation in the table.”

Singapore’s National University and China’s Peking University ranked first and second respectively in the list.
