Qatar seeks Pakistan Army’s help for FIFA World Cup security

Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani while in a meeting with Chief of Army staff General Qamar Javaid Bajwa expressed his wish that Qatar sought Pakistan’s assistance for the secure and peaceful hosting of FIFA World Cup.

He expressed that he wishes to learn from the experience of Pakistan Army security domain.

The mega event of football 2022 will be hosted by Qatar.

In meeting along with Prime Minister of Qatar, Commander Qatar Emiri Land Forces Major General Muhammad Ali Ghanim Al Ghanim and Commander Qatar Emiri Guard Major General Hazza Bin Khalil Al Shahwani were also present.

Prime Minister Qatar appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Army towards regional peace and expressed that resident of Qatar values the people of Pakistan.

He admired Pakistan’s contribution towards development and growth of Qatar.

He hoped that Pakistan and Qatar will move forward on multiple fronts including cyber security, defense production and ease of travel.

Chief of Army staff thanked PM of Qatar for his acknowledgments and assured to facilitate Qatar on desired forums.

COAS on his visit to Qatar also met Commander Qatar Emiri Land Forces Major General Muhammad Ali Ghanim Al Ghanim. The General of Qatar admired the efforts of Pakistan Army for fighting against ongoing terrorism. He also showed interest in field exercises and joint training between two countries.

COAS also visited Qatar Emiri Guard Headquarters and met Commander Qatar Emiri Guard Major General Hazza Bin Khalil Al Shahwani. He also visited Ahmed Bin Mohamed Military College where Pakistani tri-services contingent of 166 members is imparting training.
